  7. There are *many* incredible Internet books on the market today.
  8. The following listings were copied, with the permission of the
  9. publisher, from "The Internet Yellow Pages" written by Harley
  10. Hahn and Rick Stout (and published by Osborne McGraw-Hill).

  12. Hahn and Stout's "The Internet Yellow Pages" has over four hundred
  13. pages of listings for various e-mail, LISTSERV, Internet mailing
  14. list, Usenet, telnet, FTP, Gopher, and finger sites around the
  15. world. I went through "The Internet Yellow Pages" and randomly
  16. picked forty-one interesting telnet sites.

  18. Before I turn you loose on the Internet, there are a few things I
  19. want to say:

  21.      -  The listings give the site's address, and the password
  22.         required. For example, if the listing said
  23.  
  24.                   Address:  squirrel.com
  25.                   Password: patrick
  26.  
  27.         you would simply telnet to squirrel.com, and use the
  28.         password "patrick" :)
  29.  
  30.      - If a site does not let you in, its probably because that
  31.        site is having some problems. If this happens, just pick
  32.        another site.
  33.  
  34.      - Please remember that your local Internet service provider
  35.        only handles the *local* part of your service. It would be
  36.        pretty foolish to call your local Internet service provider
  37.        and complain about a problem that you are having with a
  38.        *distant* computer :)
  39.  
  40.      - Remember the Roadmap code: YOU CAN NOT BREAK THE INTERNET!!
  41.        The Internet was built to survive a direct nuclear attack
  42.        ... it can take ANYTHING you do to it. If the Internet can
  43.        survive me, it can survive you. ;)

  45.      - If everything falls apart on you, EXIT TELNET AND TRY AGAIN!
